Les Paul headstock thickness hmmmmm

So my 07 blonde beauty is in the rack next to my new 14 Les Paul Classic and I noticed the thickness of the headstock is noticeably different the 07 is about 1/8-3/16 thicker anyone else notice this on their LPs ???

Historics have a holly overlay on the headstock. Not sure about either of your guitars having that or not, but that's probably what it is.

My 2007 is a blonde beauty with the maple stripe going up the back of the neck to match the front. The 2014 Classic has a headstock about the same thickness as my Fender Strat or telecaster.
