They had one of those at Guitar Center and I picked it up and played it for a few minutes. It felt really good on the neck.

I like the new BlueBurst Relic's......if the bodies were any other wood besides Basswood I'd probably spring for one... how much more for Alder or Poplar and for the Franks some kind of Ash for the purist's.
A few years ago I got a Red White and Black non Franky EVH on a trade and I just didn't like it at all for a player. On the other hand alot of people seem to like their EVH Fankies.....maybe they play better than the RWB non Frank that I had.
I had a Charvel So Cal at the same time from another trade and the Alder bodied Charvel felt, played alot better than the EVH....the EVH's don't suck but they could be better IMHO.

Think about this; EVH originally made that guitar look so ridiculous SPECIFICALLY to prevent people from copying it. He was already sick of people copying his guitars.
Also consider that EVH made his guitar unique and specific TO HIM. He butchered a lot of guitars.
Hot take: the idea of buying a premade ‘EVH copy’ guitar is one of the most anti-EVH things you could ever do.

I do too, not gonna lie. I’m a huge fan of the dude but I’ve never wanted a striped EVH guitar. Something very lame about it.
‘EVH inspired’ I’m cool with. EVH clone is not for me.
