List of Egnater Moduels

There are a few new modules not yet on the list:

COD - A Dumble inspired design
TWN/DLX - Blackface Twin and Deluxe

Plus Bruce can make you whatever you want.

Weren't there clips of all the modules somewhere? I thought there were some at the Indoor Storm site, but I can't find them.

Feels weird reviving a 3-year-old post . . . but I'd like to know if there are any Egnater dual-channel modules that have come and gone, and are no longer made or shown on Egnater's website. I know the "DLX" is one. Was there ever a dual-channel Twin (I assume it would have been called the "TWN")? Any others?

Ah - I just saw someone mention an "EG1/2" module from an earlier post . . . never heard of that one before. Did I read that right?

There was:
1.) T/V (Twin Channel A, VOX Channel B)
2.) T/T (Two identical Twin channels)

Thanks! I didn't realize the T/V (and the D/V that I also heard about) were actually available as stock modules from Egnater. I had (incorrectly) assumed that these were special mods done to a stock T/D (or perhaps to a DLX in the case of a D/V). I learn something new every day here . . .

If you get a chance, find an old single channel EG3,it is the shit

I don't think they were really stock.

I'll make a list anyways:

TT
TV
TD
DD-DLX
DV?
Bman
COD
SL
VX
SL2
SL2X-GNR
EG3/4
EG5-(prototype is called "X")
Erect
MHG

BTW, EG1/2 has never existed.

Is it that different from the A channel of the EG3/4? Much better? Don't think I've ever seen one of these anywhere . . . maybe I'll keep my eyes open for one starting in a few weeks - thanks!

yes.

The "3" side of the 3/4, is actually closer to the "4", with less gain.

The single channel 3 is more open, and dynamic, IMO.

Thanks Gene . . . I also found a link with sound clips for several modules (here), where there is one module that (technically) isn't on that list: a TWIN. So I can see there was a DLX and a TWIN, but now there's currently only a T/D. I also see that a stock T/D can be modded into either a T/T or a D/D. However, since I own both a DLX and a T/D, I know that even if I were to get my T/D modded into a D/D, it would still be different from my DLX, as the DLX and the T/D have completely different circuit boards (it's actually the current T/D that has its own dedicated PCB - "T/D" is actually etched onto the PCB, as opposed to it using the same bare PCB used by many other modules only with different components).

This kind of bummed me out, because the only reason I originally acquired both a T/D and a DLX was so that I could compare the component differences in order to be able to mod the module myself and go between a T/D and a D/D until I decided which I liked better; but this was all based on the (incorrect) assumption that the two modules used the same circuit board!

So I have to assume (I know, this already got me into trouble once   ) that the older TWIN module also uses a different PCB than the T/D, and thus a T/D modded into a T/T would in fact be different than an original TWIN module. Now, how much different a D/D actually sounds from a DLX, or a T/T sounds from a TWIN is a completely different issue and remains to be seen (or heard in this case) . . . anyone have any experience with these differences?

BTW, EG1/2 has never existed.
Yeah, I misread that. They were referencing the channels from a couple of older Egnater amps/preamps (I think one was something like an IE2 or an IE4, and the other started with an "M" - I forget though).

I remember playing an old IE4 in a shop and channel 3 was the standout channel for me
If the EG3 is like that then I can only agree

Wonder if Bruce would do a special module EG3/3 where both channels are the same EG3 allowing different gain settings
The EG3/4 is almost my favourite module (although the SL2x is now my most used) and an EG3/3 may be the jewel in the crown for me

Got me thinking now...........
