So, i finally found myself a dedicated band and we have some shows coming up soon, and I need some help figuring out everything i'll need for my live setup. Over the past few months i've gone through quite a few amps, most of which were controlled by a stock footswitch and i used stompboxes for effects.

However, I currently have a Diezel Herbert and TC G-major 2 + some pedals (ISP decimator Dr. Scientist cosmichorus, Boss Tuner) that i want to use. I know for the Diezel and TC i'll need a MIDI controller. I have a behringer fcb1010, but i don't think that will cut it for both the Diezel and TC.

I was thinking i will need to get a Voodoo Labs GCX switcher and Ground Control Pro, but wasn't sure exactly. I was thinking i would need this so i don't have to dance around on stage turning on and off the ISP and Dr scientist while switch between channels on the herbert.

If someone could give me some suggestions on what i need and how to set it up, i would greatly appreciate it

Edited Part:

Here's exactly what i need out of the setup: 4 channels (patches)
1. Clean: Just need the clean channel from the Herbert with the Cosmichorus peal
2. Clean: Clean channel on Herbert + a delay/reverb patch from the G-major 2
3. Rhythm: Channel 2 on Herbert + Delay patch from G-major 2 + ISP decimator
4. Lead: Channel 3 on Herbert with a 3rd patch (Delay/reverb) from the G-major 2 + ISP Decimator

list all the pedals besides the decimator and where in the chain you use them.

there are so many midi pedals, define what you want it to do and how much you want to spend.

Im also not so sure the behringer wont work for what you want considering you already own it.

this payne labs midi looper/switcher is cheap ($220) and pretty nice:

Why do you think the FCB won't cut it? It's actually one of the most versatile MIDI controllers around.
OTOH, if you also need to program the pedals, and also keep them in the rack, you will need some sort of looper. GCX is good, but could be a little too much if you only want to switch a couple of pedals in and out.
You should give us some more details about exactly what pedals do you want to use and how.

???

The FCB1010 hat two switches and the GM too. The amp is all midi. Of course you can switch all your stuff with the fcb1010!

Id stick with the fcb since you have it as it WILL work with your stuff and add the payne labs looper. it will give you a loop for before the amp for your chorus and one after also for the ISP. there are actually two loopa before the amp and two after, you couls put the g major in one so whe nits not being used its not even in the signal chain.

i forget about the herberts loop switching capabilities, cant you channel assign them?

As most of you can guess by now, i have no knowledge of the technical aspects of guitar equipment (especially midi)! From what i've read it seems like i have to have a looper/switcher. One problem solved!

As for the midi controller, the reason i was thinking the fcb1010 wouldn't cut it is because i've read that it's not programmable. So i would have to program the whole setup every time i go out! Being the technical idiot that i am, i'm just worried that i'll forget some steps when i'm at a show. That's why i was thinking about getting the Ground Control Pro (I believe i read somewhere that this pedal board is programmable....so it would be ready to go every time???) Is this true?

MIDI is a new concept to me. All of my old setups were simply click a couple footswitches on some pedals, and i was good to go.

the fcb is programmable, meaning you wont need to reprogram all of your patches each time you use it.
