Load box squealies when using IR's

So I have been trying to find ways to cut tracks when my amps aren't screaming in the amp closet I am setting up. It's good for ideas or scratch track you can replace later on. I tried using Genome and Codex which were free to me because i have a Torpedo Reload and with the slight latency and feeling, SIMS just aren't for me. I've set myself up with my Jose style modded 800 with speaker out going into CAB M+ and then into the Load function on the Reload. Works well with gain half way and sounds good. But if i push that master up over 6 or pull the Jose or gain boost on my amp, the squeals make an appearance. What is your setup like for loading down an amp? If you guys are using Torpedo or other such boxes, do you have it sitting near the amp?? Are you then standing further from the amp or do you clamp everything down with a noise clamp? I suppose it could be the load box too close to the amp but how inconvenient is it to have them sitting 10ft from each other. I have a small home studio with drums and other gear in it, I was hoping the Reload could stay in it's designated space.

My load boxes are right on top or beside the amp. Only time I get squeals are if the guitar is too close to amp itself.

Ok, I'm sitting right by the amp because i have my console in front of me and was hoping to keep things tight but i guess that's the issue

What's your exact signal chain? Need to start ruling out some variables...

These might not solve your problem, but could be relevant.

I don’t have a problem with the load box too close to the amp causing squeals, have only had it when my guitar is too close to the amp/lb. That was only when I was running an od and fuzz in front too.

That’s not the load box, or IRs. Your guitar is too close to the amp for those amp settings.

The amp would squeal the same way if it was plugged into a 4x12 and the amp was physically placed in the same spot it’s in when you use it with a load box.

Ok that was helpful and yes proximity ✔️, high end ✔️ gain ✔️ volume lol. I'm the poster child for the squeals.

Too bad because I love where I have things setup. I guess i can stand up and stand back if u step on a pedal or use the gain mods.

Wild, i've literally never ran into this issue before and would have had no idea it existed without the fryette videos - I always have my amps and load boxes across the room from the computer/monitor just to try and avoid noise

Invest in a noise gate that does the 4CM, it may introduce a ground loop (solvable) but it will make your rig usable if you've got a lot of feedback going on.

I'm in a similar boat (high gain, volume cranked, sit in front of my cabs) and make it work with a Fortin Zuul+ (silence the noise between notes) and a Lehle P-ISO (remove the ground loop noise).

If I'm understanding the question

I cannot attest how similar fryette is to others. But I run into squeal if I have my presence too high, switch on bright/high and my amp is aggressively bright.

My hot rodded British amp. I haven't turned my fryette settings more than mid settings both knob and switch.

Maybe mess around with high end see if you can cut a smidge?

Also if my guitar is too close.

I've had weird issues with cell phones so recommend that out of the room. Make sure your cable is solid and correct type (ive used ts when i needed trs for example). Also if I leave microphones setup or too close. I can have issues.

Fryette video is probably best I'm not 100% from your comment but thought id share my 2 cents esp regarding marshall/British having so much raw and high end.

I do have a decimator but was not using the other day so that will for sure go in line when i record. Not the end of the world if i play standing up a few feet from the amp but i have a feeling it was doing it even 3 or 4 feet from amp which might be an issue but I'm going to try a few things. The CAB M has a ground lift on it but not sure that would help. I also use Furhman power strip so i think there should be some noise filtering.

I guess that's the unfortunate thing. I like cutting british tones.. usually presence on 6 or 7 and treble around 6. Gain mods on the amp also drive it harder as does volume so seems like it is a recipe for disaster and probably why guys like Steve Stevens will use the technology but stand 20 feet away from it on stage. Lynch when he was doing his cab pack promo video, was sitting far from his amp as well. Seems that makes the most sense.

Steve Stevens live setup since a few years..so def not an issue with load box near amp confirming the guitar being the issue..

Ground lifts are tricky...they're not always well places in your signal chain and are technically unsafe for amps.

Passives boxes like the Lehle P-ISO solve those problems though.
