Load resistor

Hi,

if I used a VH4S with just one speaker on one side (mono), the other side shouldn't go without load resitor.

Is there any magic to these resistors? I found these:

If I bought one with 50/100W at 8,2 Ohms, soldered it to a jack and plugged it into one side... would it suffice?

You should be OK with that, just be careful that it might get a bit too hot on full load, and may require a heat sink.
