Loaded my Herbert with 6CA7 Tubes - WOW

Was loaded with set of KT77, one red plated so figured why not try something that you don't see much of, Herbert with 6CA7. I really like what these tubes do doe the Herbert...more mid grind and tighter thumpier low end. If you've thought about it - do it. Those tubes are very cool.

I went with JJ as I don't care for EH tubes (power or pre)

Hmm. I guess it depends on the user. I didn't like winged C 34's, too much mids and compression. I like the KT77's I just installed, more balanced across the EQ for me.

Good deal. JJ PTs like Herbert.

If you've got or have tried the Ruby EL34BSTR you'll find them also to be nearly identical to the JJ 6CA7 big bottle in feel and very close in tone. I know we're talking Diezel here but they (JJ 6CA7) also really shine in the Fender Twin Reverb.
