Took my wife shopping last night in San Antonio. I had bought a couple of cords from GC and I bought 10 footers instead of 15. I needed them to run down the wall for my drum machine in the new bedroom studio I am working on. Went in to do the exchange and went over to the amp room to see if they had anything new. There it was! One of the employees, Glenn, was jamming on it. He had it hooked up to that new Line 6 M13 thingy and an Egnater slant front 4X12 with a Music Man guitar (nice). We cranked it! I went out to the car and got the finance minister (wife). We went back in and I melted her face (
). Her words.
Got it home last night and ran my gear into it. My Les Paul R8 into Xotic BB, Fulltone Fat Boost, Vox Tone Lab in the loop set with multi tap chorus and delay for some clean sounds. Wow, way more headroom than you think it's going to have and just a beautiful chime. I couldn't decide which I liked better, blended favoring the 6V6 or EL 84. Just some wonderful clean sounds coming out. Better than what I'm getting on the MOD 50 with the Bassman.
Next, I cranked it up, gain half way or a little more. Great slightly overdriven sounds backing the guitar volume, pull the volume up and step on the BB. Yes!!! It sounds great like this.
Gain all the way, bright switch off, tight switch off, tone and master around noon, wattage at about 8 to 10. Holy freaking cow.
I will not be able to play it tonight or I would break out the Strat and get crazy for a couple of hours. I'm leaving right after work today to go to the Arlington Guitar show. My wife says I need a Tele and who am I to argue? She's a damn fine woman let me tell you!!!
Bruce , Jeff, John, Frank all of you good folks at Eganter. This amp is a real winner. Fine job.
