Looks like Chubtone is closing up shop at the end of year?

Copied from the Facebook post from them today. This would be a shame. I have ordered a few guitars from Curt when he still had Squid Music and even met him once when traveling for work I made a trip down to the store. This was when he was just starting the Chubtone brand and he shared details and let me check out a couple of the early builds,

9 build slots left for 2025 and probably forever. Maybe the ticking clock and window closing GIF's weren't clear. Matt is wanting to retire at the end of November.
1 build slot available for late September completion
4 build slots available for October completion
4 build slots available for November completion

I'm actually playing my Chubtone as I read this. Perhaps I'll shred a few licks in memoriam. That sucks they're shutting down though, they build sweet guitars at a very reasonable price.

Nice guitars but James Tyler makes a better looking headstock so no surprise ol chubby is being edged out of the competition.
Yes, very accurate take based on excellent reading comprehension. We are being "edged out of the competition" because one of us is retiring very financially comfortable (in So Cal no less) and the other doesn't even remotely need the money. I don't like going in to dick mode but am certainly capable of.

Yea I figured you’d like it, my understanding is it’s literally a profile view of James Tyler’s lil pee pee

Tiny little balls right by the bottom of the first fret, pencil neck shaft, circumcised tip…right up your alley

You are welcome to go full dick mode over a dumb joke I have repeated about a hundred times in the last two weeks but that would make you seem like you weren't ready for retirement. I'm sure the fans of your guitars would rather you stay in the game but you do you my man! Sincere congrats on the retirement!

I love my German flag Chubtone and will cherish it even more now that retirement is in the cards for the brand. I wish I still had that Slime green 2009 Charvel I bought from you back in the day. Thanks for making amazing guitars dude. Ordering my guitar got me thru all of that pandemic stuff.🤘

I was just getting ready to ask if Chubtone could build me a replacement neck for the one I have now. Love it, but would like a little more wood on it. Guess I should hurry up!

Congrats on retirement ! You make great guitars! I enjoyed mine. Too bad the company cannot carry on - you seem to be busy generally.

Proud owner of two although I am thinking of downsizing my entire guitar collection and may let one go along with a couple Les Pauls.

Plus my second Chub guitar gets all the PT now, it really is everything I wanted in a super strat style guitar. Years ago I became obsessed with this old Dean Markley add with a hot rodded Charvel. It was even reminiscent of a guitar Lynch played in the old Stars video. So for my second Chubtone build I sent them the specs for my version of that (see image below) guitar. My version literally was exactly what I had envisioned. Love it.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience dealing with Curt for custom guitar(s). As many know, the guys are top notch.

Sad to see Chubtone Guitars ending production. Been seeing some of the recent builds and you guys have been killing it. Congrats to you and Matt, Curt on a much deserved retirement. I will cherish my #27 Chubtone.

I bet it wasn’t a pick on you, just a joke.

I think most of us are saddened by the news. Great that you guys doing well financially though.
