What other cable are you talking about? Mic cable? Has another connector. Power cord 
Just use a simple guitar cable/patch cable.
It should be shielded (wire mesh around the inner conductor) to prevent noise being inducted.
Doesn't need to be super high spec as capacity wont affect tone as much as infront of the amp as the impedance is lower...

Regular unbalanced TS cables, yes - don't believe balanced TRS cables will work.
