Such a great Sammy era tune with genius from Eddie as usual!

Rocco does an awesome job playing & dialing in the tone on his AxeFx

Yeah, I don't know how much more nailed it can get than totally.

WOW!
That tone is perfect!!
My favorite song off of that album too.
Great playing!
I love how VH changed that song up on the solo
section for Live without a Net.

So much more fire in the old stuff even right through the Van Hagar days. It really drops off in the more recent stuff doesn't it.

My favorite song off the album too and also love the live version on Live Without a Net with the cathedral delay solo before the main guitar solo. And ya... Rocco kills it in that video. Playing and tone.

I bought an AXE FX II XL specifically because of this vid. The patch he has nails that sound...and it translated well when I was using it...BUT I had to go back to a real amp cause ALL I did was tweak patches...for hours...

LOL..... yeah one can get caught up with all the options, but the truth is it can be bonehead simple by just loading an amp model/favorite IR & adjust the basic tone knobs.

The rabbit hole is there though if you have OCD

It's an unbelievable device...ALL I did was tweak though...for hours...for a month and a half...

I had to go back to a tube amp just for my own sanity... :D

My buddy bought it and absolutely loves it...

I'm starting to second guess my AXE FX ii decision because of my fear of spending more time pressing buttons than frets. I find my self moving everything on my desk at work to be symmetrical.

And i wanna dive into an axe fx  only need another 500ish dollars and i can start looking though.

It's a rabbit hole for sure. I've got the XL and just bought a Kemper rack profiler. Love them both. But neither have replaced my amps for live gigs though. But for home practice and recording man they are sick.

lol.....don't get scared, it's really a killer unit. It can be as easy or as difficult as you wanna make it.

Whatever cabs/speakers you love in real life, just search out the same IR of it from Fractal, Ownhammer or ML Sound Lab & you'll love the AxeFx........Keep it simple & don't just depend on factory presets

Excellent tune and amazing playing!!

The Axe is a fantastic tool and all you have to do is NOT let the tweaking get the best of you.
Find some great sounds and play...

Did I mention great job on 5150 dude!!!! Wow

You don't have to tweak just because there are tons of things to tweak. Just use what you do on a tube amp: volume, gain, and EQ. Put a boost pedal in there for solos, add your favorite delay. Done.

I tweaked constantly on the Ultra, because I couldn't get it where I wanted it. With the II, it's all there, just like a tube amp...
