Do the M4 and E2 have external transformers or do they have a "standard" 110-120V power directly to the units without a transformer inline in the power cord?
I'm assuming it will not have a wall wart. I sure hope it doesn't. If there's anything that's a buzzkill wiring up a rig...is seeing fucking wall warts!

How could a wall wart supply the necessary 400 or so DC volts the preamp needs in addition to the 6v it needs to keep the filaments warm, in addition to the 9VDC for the phantom power, etc.
I'm sure they have a tranny in mind that will be inside the unit.

M4 has an internal transformer. E2 has an external transformer. Not really a "wall wart" type that plugs directly into the outlet. It wiil be a box that is in line with the power cord. Sorry, there is no other way to do it. FYI, Jeff is no longer with Egnater. Not sure if he will visit here to answer your questions but I will try often. You can always email me directly at bruce@egnater.com
At least a inline transformer is a step above a plug transformer; but, certainly not a good as an internal one. Please make sure it has a long enough cord between the transformer and the E2 unit so users can get it well out of the way of signal cords. Is there any "final'ish" word on release date, MSRP price and distributor prices.
Sorry to hear Jeff left, he certainly was a good source for accurate information. I'm sure he will do well where ever he goes on his next life's adventure.
