I just got a M4 from eddiespaghetty, thanks Helmut, and I just tried it out today with some of my lower gain modules. The preamp goes into a Line6 M13, then the poweramp of a Vox ac30 head then into the speaker of a Fender DRRI combo. Hope you like it!

thats great like the deluxe best .

is it possible to do one with your hi gain mods .Sl2 EG3/4 eg5

thanks!!

Yes I will probably do that too. But I think I'm gonna let go of the more higher gain modules as I like the lower gain modules best. I have an SL, SL2x and a EG3/4X but i plan on unmodify the latter cause it's too similar to the SL2x. Havn't tried the higher gain ones theough this setup though. Would be interesting although I think another cab would be prefered for high gain.

They all sound great. The DLX and VX are my favorite but the BMAN sounds really round and fat. I can see using it for a blues/roots rock gig. The COD also sounded great on the lead stuff.

How are you liking the SL? I just tried a Tung-Sol in V1 and I'm very impressed. Killer sounding module.

The SL is great. Havn't taken the time to really play that module though as I'm more of a Fender kinda guy when it comes to cleaner sounds. I'm really in love with the lower gain modules and they sound exactly what I wanted the Egnater stuff to sound like. For more hardrock kinda thing my Soldano's hard to beat but the SL and SL2x sound fantastic trought the power section of the Soldano. They also sound fantastic in the Mod50 if you're after a softer kind of rock sound.

Do you prefer the Sl2X or 3/4 X or were you saying they are both really close with the X mod?

Nice job, sounds really good.
Egnater does a killer job on the low gain modules.
My favorite low gain modules are the DLX, VX, my favorite high gainers are the SL2x & EG5.

I have a modded DLX. It really does a great job with the BF Fender tones. I tried a lot of different preamp and power tubes. My favorite ended up being JP5751/TS12AX7 preamp and TS6550 power tubes.

I traded my VX for a SL. I love the SL but I'm starting to miss the VX. I need to pick one up sometime soon.

qwerty - nice work, man!

That settles it. Must. Get. BMan.

Really liked them all but the VX and BMan are my clear favorites.

Yes!

Tried the T/D, the Twin, the VX, and the Bman.

Bman is my clean, VX is my gritty clean. Perfect for me.

Very nice shootout..all of 'em have something worthwhile..that's the killer with the modules  :D

I prefer the SL2x in most cases. They are very similar. Through some setups they are almost identical. But SL2x are slightly more open in the mids and top end. EG3/4x is somewhat fatter and but not enough for me to have both. I just like the voicing of SL2x more. If I unmod the 3/4 i hope it will fill a different purpose being a fat lead tone.

Thanks for all replys! I really dig the fact that you all have different favourites. We all hear and like things differently and that's what makes the modular thing som great.

It did for me... I actually had my SL2x converted to a SL because I bonded with the stock 3/4 more than the SL2x.

BTW - Are you using a LLS after the M4 or just turning the master down so it doesn't clip?
