When using both outputs on the M4, it seems to affect my tone. With both outputs utilized, there is a slight volume drop, and a slight loss of dynamics. Is this normal??
One output is going to one side of a VHT 2/50/2 power amp. The other output is going to one side of a Marshall Valvestate 8008 power amp.
I was not actually running both power amps at the same time - I was running either the VHT or the Marshall, but I had both M4 outputs connected at all times.
Baffling...when you plug into the mono of the VHT it y adapts to each side. So in essence, both of your ends..M4 and VHT are y adaptors. I see no reason for what you are hearing.
If you bring up capacidence in the 3 foot cable I will come to your home take your rig and tell you your nuts!
Sorry I misunderstood. I thought you said you heard a difference between mono into the VHT with one cable or using two cables into the same VHT. There would be no difference in that case. If you do use both outputs into two different amps or ?, depending on the impedance of the two, you could conceivably hear something, especially if one of the amps has a much lower input impedance. Many solid state power amps do have a much lower impedance than their tube counterparts.
