Took the rack rig out for a spin at rehearsal the other day. Used BMAN, VX, EG3, and COD. I wanted to see how the VX would sound against my other guitarist's AC30. I was pleased to find that my tone stood out and easily found its own place in the mix. My power section is 6550's and EL34's and I think in conjunction with my 4x10 and 2x12 it differentiates itself enough to warrant keeping it. I found a place for use of all but the COD as I'm not doing much lead work on this gig. Plan to tweak it a bit and find a way to get in there.

After playing with the group I took out the EG3 and am now using the EG5 with the gain rolled back to 9 o'clock. I wish I had discovered this a little sooner. Amazing how touch sensitive it is without all the saturation. Works perfectly for my rhythm tone.

I'm still very satisfied with the rig and hope that we see more modular stuff down the road. Please don't give up on us Bruce, if you build it we will play it.

The EG5 has many tricks up its sleeve. I typically have my EG5 set just before it gets hairy. The amount of gain and clarity is simply amazing.
