M4 Question

So, I purchased an older single channel M4 in nice condition to use with my single channel mods (Scorch, Snork, etc.). I received it on Friday. I played it on Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning and it was fine. I turned it on again on Sunday afternoon and it sounded horrible. It sounds as if ALL the modules are running very weak. The clean module can barely be heard and the high gainers sound weak and have barely any gain.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Any advice you can give is appreciated.

Two suggestions Will:

1.) Are you sure the connections are all good, and by that, I mean the connection in your guitar and in the input of the amp? It almost sounds like a weak input signal problem, which could be connection-related or due to a bad guitar cable; or

2.) Try swapping the input tube in the M4 chassis with one you know works properly. It could just be that your input tube is fried.

could be lots of things.

1. (this is probably the problem) try a different preamp tube in the chassis, one you KNow works.

2. input jack is dirty??

Thanks, guys.

I plugged my guitar straight into my Mod50 and it sounded fine, so I don't think its the cable. I will try new tubes and see if that helps.
