M4 Replacement Fan

Hello,

I purchased an M4 direct from Egnater back in 2009. Recently, I’ve noticed that the cooling fan is much louder for the first few minutes after turning the unit on. The sound goes away generally after a few minutes, but I think it might be time to look into a replacement.

Can you please provide the specs for the cooling fan? If you have any of these on hand, I would be interested in purchasing one as well.

Thanks for making a stellar product, I love my M4 and intend to have it a long time.

I totally don't remember the specs, but I replaced both fans (1 each) in my M4 and Randall RT2/50 power amp when I had that rig.
I think they were both 80mm fans - I got a pair of SilenX (computer) fans with a balanced low db/high air flow, and it was a noticeable difference.

Thinking about doing the same for my MOD50 head.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will give the 80mm SilenX a look.

I suppose I could just crack the M4 open and take a look to get what I need. Not like it's still under warranty or anything. Was trying to avoid getting in there until the part arrived, but no big deal. Should be a quick, cheap fix.

Just be sure to check the connector pin to the board. It’s 2 or 3 pins, can’t remember.
