MAD NAD C+ DRG

Here are the other two I've owned. SRG (sixty, reverb, Graphic EQ) and a DG (simul-class, Graphic EQ C++) I liked the SRG better but I had to try a C++. I be giving a call to Mike B. @ Boogie to send it in to get a check up.

We all have our favorite amp, I still have a Dave Hopkins modded Marshall and my Boogie Quad preamp to play through, but we all know that nothing is a C+ but a C+, that extra 1%. You know if you know.

Was that listed for four years?
Six years, I actually contacted the person last night and they said they listed it back then, took it down after deciding they wanted to keep it, and then recently relisted using the same ad. I was actually going to buy this when I woke up this morning to see what all the hubbub was about. Glad to see a fellow forum member ended up with it after I saw it had been sold. Probably better anyways, as they seem to have an affinity and I just wanted to try it :ROFLMAO:

Shoot me if I sell this one. Seriously, shoot me. Yes, I regret not hanging on to the previous two I've owned.

Everything lined up perfect IMO. I kept seeing the #1111 since my father died, ser. # 11191 on amp.

Weird how that happens. Bought a ‘59 Les Paul Reissue from a shop overseas after my Dad died. I opened the case and the serial number is 9 13**. His birthday was September 13.

Now I’ve just bought a Bogner 101B from @Catthan. Got it home and realised the serial number is 061947. My Dad was born in 1947.

I was looking for something new, guitar or amp to light the fire up. I have super, incredibly great guitars and amps and all but still. mus-Einstein by John Bazzano, on Flickr
I looked at what was listed here in the classifieds and on Craigslist. I saw a full 1980's Marshall Jubilee stack near me for $3,000.00, a good deal but not what I wanted. I saw some Mark llB's and Mark 1's thinking, that's kind of what I want, minus the high gain. I wanted something that had a "woody" raw Dumbleish tone, I knew that a C+ was the only amp that would make me feel like, O.K., stop looking, you're done, asshole! Anything short of that and you'll sell it after the honeymoon's over.

I've had a few days now to reflect on my purchase of the C+ and I'm feeling very fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time. Even my wife found it ironic the price of 5051 is the 4 of her ssn! Fate, merciful fate in reality.

I've been looking for something new to tickle my interest in playing with the purchase of a new guitar or amp for about six months. I bought a 1973 Gibson SG Custom in February thinking that that was what would give me inspiration for playing and writing new tunes. I didn't bond with it. My other guitars are great, my amps are great. But,.... you know, right? I am not alone in the "tone quest".

I searched the classifieds here, CraigsList, eBay, and Reverb. I was extremely close to pulling the trigger on both a guitar and an amp only to realize I would probably sell it because it wasn't as good as what I have already. Luxury problem. I've never owned a Telecaster (or an explorer). I still think I want a telecaster, (um, it's a 2X4 with barbed wire for strings). "I want one", sure I do, not! But I sometimes think so. A brand new Mark VII sold for under $2,000.00 on Friday. I have a Mark 535 and have owned both a Mark 5 90 watt and a JP2C. They're boring, you can't get a bad tone no matter where the settings are and I get ear fatigue after an hour of playing any new amp. I like the new Boogies, but they are not the same thing, we all know that. My Mark 535 is in a SKB road case and is easy to bring out, loud enough and incredibly easy to dial in on the fly. I'll keep it for what it is, a great little, lightweight amp that has soul.

Custom shop guitars are about the same price as good amps. Look at all the boutique amps in the classifieds here on RT, crazy great deals but I made the absolutely best decision for myself.

The stars all aligned for me on Thursday. The amp has shipped and is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday.

In 1980, I had my chance at a 1959 Black Les Paul but it was $5,000.00!! $3,500.00 more than the 1955 Stratocaster and 1972 Marshall Super lead half stack that I bought instead. I remember thinking, "$5,000.00? for 1 guitar, I could buy the '62 Strat for $500.00 too", so I did!

I sold my C++ just before the Gibson acquisition for almost as much as I paid for this one.

An hour??? Jeez, that must be rough.
