Song is not mine. I remember hearing it on the Sneap Forum way long ago. But anyways, just riffing out to compare them all.

They're not all JB's, really, LOL. One of them is a DiMarzio AT-1. But an AT-1 is pretty much just a DiMarzio JB, haha.

So it's my LTD EC with an Antiquity JB, my Fender Partscaster with the AT-1, and a Gibson Les Paul Tribute with a standard JB. The sound is my HX with the new EVH model and a Josh Middleton IR.

Spoiler alert: They sound pretty similar. That's intentional. But there are some subtle differences between all three guitars. Which one do you like best?

:)

i think i like the middle. all of em sound great though
Thank you! That's the Strat. :D

I like 1 the most, followed by 2. I wasn’t a fan of 3 as there was a weird mid thing going on that sounded off to me?

Great playing too. Catchy and heavy AF.
Thank you! 1 is the LTD with the Ant JB, 2 is the Strat with the AT-1.

I think what you're hearing with 3 is that the bridge pickup is closer to the bridge itself than on the other 2 guitars. I kinda like it, but it does have a way more aggressive attack than the other two. TBH, I don't think a fatter/smoother pickup on this particular guitar would sound bad.

I’ve never liked a JB. This just continues to prove it for me. I’m a sucker for a Duncan distortion though. I’m also a HUGE fan of Tonezones.

I love my JB's, but I'm not sure it's the right pickup for this guitar at this point. Sometimes I love it, though. But other times, yeah, it's a bit much.

I've kinda wanted to try a Tone Zone for a while. I'm just not sure it'd be the right pickup for a Les Paul in Drop C, though. Then again, this Les Paul has an Air Norton in the neck, and it sounds great, so...

At first I preferred 2 then 1 then 3 but that was listening/comparing to the opening riff. That extra top in 2 makes that riff pop more. But when you get to the end where all the guitars are stacked then it was pretty much the opposite. #2 had too much high end information and 3 had a killer focused sound.

And yeah that's a cool riff with some great tones.

The riff is not mine. I wished it was, but nah. I heard it some time ago at the Sneap forum. Not sure, but I believe it's by a band called Machinate? Don't quote me on that, but yeah. It's got groooooove.

Thanks! Yeah, 3 has some aggression going on. I like it... but at the same time, I'm not sure if it's a bit much? 3 is the plain Jane JB in the Gibson.

I like 3 for sitting in a mix, 1 next and then 2. The second one would be a good playing out of mix for me. All sound good to me though.

3 is definitely the tightest, I feel. However, 2 has less low-end. Not sure if 1 is actually the tightest, now that I think about it, but I feel the low-end is the fastest-tracking.

Thanks for listening. :)

I liked number 3 the best but none of it means anything until you have it in a mix with REAL drums, bass, 2nd guitar or keys, and vocals if applicable. Nice playing and tone. I could hear rats pissing on cotton during those takes.

Thank you!

Not sure if you mean a lead guitar by 2nd guitar, but on my clip, it's 4 guitar tracks playing at all times. :D

They all sound good, but the real star here is that EVH model. I'm surprised that's not a real amp. BRB, updating my HX Stomp

Oh, man. I ADORE that model. I had a 50W, an LBX 1 and 2, and this model 100% has the vibe.
