I’m not an authority on Metallica tones but it sounds pretty damn close. Maybe a little more top end sizzle?
Nice job!

No need for criticism, it sounds great! The tone is not exact, but it never is - some many variables. Chasing a recorded tone is a rabbit hole that never ends.

Yours is a little more aggressive in the upper mids, but who cares it sounds rockin'.

Sounds great, only criticism I have is that I vastly prefer micing things 😂

Lots of people use the same IRs for the same sounds (especially in YouTube and modern satellite radio metal) and it has made everyone sound more and more alike as time goes by.

To each his own. Micing cabs is fun and experimental but I just don’t have the room anymore to do it the right way with a treated space.

100% fair. IRs can sound great, and take much less work, that's for sure.

Love it. Can u share your settings? I just got a MK IV. Kind of a Mesa noob.
Lead gain and lead drive pulled. Simul and pentode on back panel.

Because I get much better tones micing a cab than using IR’s, and I don’t care to spend years copying someone else’s tone? You asked...
