Lead channel of the Mark IV. MC90 speaker from a halfback 2x12 and i used an EVM for the one main guitar solo in the middle. The MC90 is open back which isn't my favorite, I'm looking for a back panel. But with some tweaking i got the cab to sound how i like for the most part.

Pretty standard settings for the IV. Simul/pentode/tweed and NO boost pedals. I used a Wayne Charvel Strathead with a Mahoganey body.

UP the Irons. :D

Thought it was really good! If I had to nit pick I would say it needed a tad more distortion/gain and slightly less mids. But then I'm sure what you heard in the room and what my little computer speakers are giving me aren't exactly the same.

When i was using T-Racks mastering on it i was playing around with the mids and i dipped them a little. I didn't want to go too low though. But the speaker i used the most was the MC90 on an open back part of my cab and i would prefer it to be closed back. It will sound tighter and more punchy once i get it sealed. I had to tweak a LOT before i got any kind of tone i liked and my 6600 slider is WAY below the middle line.

Thanks for listening.

Fuck yeah! That song rules, love the riffing in it.

Tone is pretty good, my only complaint is that the leads are a tad too loud IMO. Good playing as usual though.

Getting the levels the same is something i never get right. I'm using KRK Rokit5 monitors and i can imagine how different it sounds on other setups. I recorded stuff that i thought was mixed ok then i put it on a disc and listened in my car and damm it was soo different. Levels were all over the place and the effects sounded a lot more wet.

Oh well, i have Phantom Of The Opera that i may screw around with next.

I just use my sweet computer monitors. They seem to work fine for adjusting levels, but I always have trouble judging if I have too much bass dialed in.

Hell yeah! Great clip, Dan!

What were your settings? Were they similar to Ralph's? Great job either way!

hella good

you got the Maiden stuff nailed to the wall :rawk:

awesome clip, I think I need to get one of those MC90 loaded cabs.

Sounded very good my man. I especially liked the tone of the non-harmonized solo that starts around 2:08... there's a lot of room sound captured in there... did you close mic?

I loved this clip, Daniel! Great tone for this clip and great playing as always.

Sounds good. Lead sounds kinda like Sykes meets Pertucci.

Sounds good, very tight. I disagree with the "needs more gain" comment, Powerslave was still early enough that Maiden wasn't over-gained on the amps. Your version sounded very good.

Thanks guys. If anyone wants the backing track just let me know.

Great tone and playing man. Sounds really different than my Mark setup but it's really excellent. The leads are a tad too loud but the tone is great!
