Mark IV head shell project

Do it yourself project.

I was thinking about making my own Mark IV head shell. I don't have any experience in making the type of joints Mesa used to make their shells. Any suggestions...? Below is a link to what I'd like to make.

Shit, Im sure if you just peeled off the tolex of off an original and stained it with some wood stain, youd come close to the picture. I think Danyeo did that once.

Thats cool, I want to do that to my ampeg VH140-C its another upside down type of chassis like the mark series amps. Except I want to used expanded metal for the grill instead of wicker, like what the old mark series 4 x 12 cabs used to have as a speaker cover.

Well...that might work if I actually had a head shell.

I've got a long Mark IV combo and I want to move the amp to a head shell format.

You could cut the combo body shorter and then screw or glue the bottom piece back on??..??

You could just but joint or mitre it, instead of dovetail. I wouldn't cut your combo down, incase you want to sell it in the future.
