I liked the 78' a bit more, don't ask me why, just taste...

Holy shit Mark, that 69 clip is hands down something that gives me some movement!

I don't know what is processed, if any - but, it does have the full on Plexi grind that I cannot find in any amp.

the 78 is cool but so is the 69 just different. it is interesting to hear how people hear them though. they both feel great. ;)

Turn off the Protools...lets hear them dry.

turn off the Protool's sounds so strange to me... its a recording app....but if you are trying to articulate that you want to hear the clips with out reverb then turn your system balance so that you can hear only the left side.

further more,... i would recommend you get into the now and get a decent recording setup. all your clips are butchered with that lame camera recording you use... dude you always make me smile. :)

I simply asked to hear some dry clips...that means void of effects. Sorry if it's too much for you to post newer clips. Why personally attack my clips and the use of the same recording interface that most of the guys that post videos on here use? :loco: If you don't like my clips...don't watch them.

i was simply giving you, IMHO, needed advice. ill say it again, it doesn't take much to hear them dry if you just turn the balance to the left.

it has nothing to do with not liking your clips, i don't think they show what you can do. at the very least they don't sound like what they sound like when i have had some of those specs wired up in my amps. ( years ago )

as i have done all along, i gave you nothing but answers.

:checkthisout: Okay, I want to comment on three vibes.... ;)
I experienced in regards to this thread.
First vibe.....the 69 plexi has this big dog kinda thing going on. it carries and has that Plexi- immortal in spades... I friggin love it.
I understand what Steve K is saying full well. Right on brother....
The 69 has compared to the 78 a 100 watt head room feel to the sound versus the 78 has that 50 watt headroom feel to the sound. if that makes any sense ? i dunno, maybe a recording thing, but it don't sound like it.
second vibe.....Nico most likely likes the 78 due to the cut it seems to have.... More of the up in your face presence. Mids maybe... but it does it's own thing for sure. I like it, but I am one of those WANT IT ALL GUYS...the pureness to my ears of the 69 is where I am at.....
The 69 clip for me has that large full tone that my ears need to hear.... subtle depth so to speak that the 78 did not have.
Wanted to make sure I stick this in...At 1:22 seconds on the 69 clip, you hear the notes bloom ! That full rounded Large tone.... over driven yet clear to my ears. :rawk:
Both were good, but if I am gonna get barked at,
I am a man's man and want to get barked at by the BIG DOG!

Wanted to finish with the third vibe, but want to keep the serious and positive from the semi-serious and sorta positive, maybe slightly negative....
I pick up on feelings of contradiction between Briango2000 and Rockstah....
You guys at least agree to disagree, so maybe you won't have to go on Dr.Phil.......

:student: Want to make sure and cover myself with the man's man and big dog comment before donbarzini posts the 411......
many men have also been the man's man and wanted to be barked at by the big dog.
  ;)

The '69 is sweetness to my ears. It seems to have the headroom that I love to hear.

69 for sure. The 78 did not have near the mojo. The 69 was just poppin, esecially in upper mids and a great treble bite!! WOW

it is interesting how some people prefer the 69 which is slower compared to the 78 which is a faster sound.

Love the Plexi for sure... What "Mods" have you done to it... Never Played a Real 69-70 plexi although I have a 73' Point To Point Wired, and stock even with the Powerbrake I don't think it would have sounded like that...

It's Friedman KS'ed now so I will never know.

Great Playing BTW.

its just a great plexi spec. neg feedback correct coupling caps etc. some of the marshall specs sound warmer some sound brighter. some are shared cathode some are split some have no cap on v2 some have different tone stacks etc. the 69 and 78 are both superlead specs. the 78 had less negative feedback with 100k/8 ohm tap. the 69 had 47k on the 16 ohm tap. huge difference that change makes.
Mark

I like both, but the 69 is more to my liking, i bet both at once would yield great results too.
