Anyone have the 411 on these 1960 cabs from the 800 line designated for bass? There's a guy somewhat local with a straight cab version 1935B with a single input (not the stereo setup like a lot of 1960s of the era) and 260 watts from the original Rola-Celestion G12-65s.

From what I gather, its just a little bit deeper than a guitar 4x12

I have two JCM800 1935 cabs, one Bass (G12-65 55hz) and one Lead (G12-65 75hz). Of the two I slightly prefer the Bass cab, but both are great sounding cabs, amongst my favorites I ever played through. I just love the fullness and big punch of the Bass cab a little bit more. The Lead cab does more of that glassy brilliant Marshall crunch tone. Running them together sounds incredible.

I've had the 1935s with both 444 65s, and 444 G12 80s. Both are killer and still sound like 65s/80s, just with more lows. There's stuff on the net about how the bass cone 65s don't sound good; that's total BS.
Great cabs, and like you said the same dimensions as any other 1960A/B cab. Now, these aren't to be confused with the actual JCM 800 Bass head, with slope/contour knobs, and the matching Bass cab with the 15s, ports etc. That is a setup specifically for bass.

Some of them really are deeper. At some point they made JCM800 legit bass amps and I think that's when the cabs got deeper. Before that point, "bass" amp and cabs were intended to be darker than the guitar counterparts (bright caps and speaker cones) but where largely the same otherwise.

Got four 800 cabs (two full stacks), two of which being bass cabs. They sound great. all G12-65. None of them are stereo. All mono 16 ohms. No deeper, exact same size as lead kind. Go for it !
