There is a switch on the back that switches between mono and stereo. There are also two jacks -- one labeled 16 ohm and one labeled 4 ohm. Also it says 8 ohm right and left next to the corresponding jacks. Does this mean I can run a head with a 4 ohm output into it? I have always used the 16 ohm jack with a corresponding head. It has 4 Celestion GT75 speakers in it, by the way.

Thanks!

from my experience.. yes. set the switch to mono and you can use either the 4 or 16 ohm inputs. if you set it to stereo you select 8 ohms. if you plug an 8 ohm output from an amp into the cab switched to 8 ohms you will notice that only one pair of speakers works. that's fine if you want it to sound like a 2x12 vertical. ;)

1big1 is correct. Just make sure it's switched to mono and you use the 4ohm side and not this 16. Switching it to stereo divides your cab into two 8ohm halves, nice if your amp has stereo capabilities.

a general rule of thumb that i use when hooking up a cab is to run it at the least amount of ohmage you can get away with. it's easier on the tubes and trannies. :)

I've heard the same thing and with new gear I'll do the same, but after changing from 4 to 16 ohms on my JSX/Marshall cab I won't go back to 4 with the JSX, just sounds so much fatter at 16. ;)

there's nothing wrong with that either.. as long as your amp can be set at 16 it's fine.
