Hi Everyone,

A few weeks ago, I saw that Mathias was selling this amp, which he used on U.D.O.'s Timebomb and live. As a big fan of his work in Gravestone, Sinner, and U.D.O., I just had to buy it.

The amp has a clean, crunch, and lead channel, plus a boost for the gain channels and a mid-shift for the clean channel. It also has a tube fx loop.

It's a complete rebuild with a custom Steavens PCB and the lead channel is a 4 stage non CF design, similar to the old Bogner Mods.

I really like this amp, it just has that awesome 80s Metal tone, and knowing its history makes it very special to me. It's definitely a keeper!

I made a video of the amp where I play some old U.D.O. riffs and noodle around haha
In the video, I'm also using my Bogner modded Marshall 2204, that I've rebuild with a mix of different Bogner mods that I've seen, and I've tweaked it to sound as close as possible to Mathias Bogner modded Marshall, which is his main amp.

Enjoy!

Sounds great. They compliment each other when you blend the two, that was my favorite. How many preamp tubes in that Steavens Marshall?

Thanks! I also think they work extremely well together. It has 5

I enjoyed them both Eddy. The Steavens does not have the clarity or crispness that the Boggy Marshall does, the Steavens also seems a bit more compressed almost congested. Again the Boggy Marshall has a present high end that is crisper albeit it has that quintessential Bogner mid compression attack thing going on.

The Steavens is cool but your Bogner Marshall outshines it IMO.... so good job on the tweaking of it.

Thanks! Yeah, it doesn't have that slimmer, cutting presicion of the Bogner style mods. They mix really well though, and I'm probably gonna do some more experimenting with that combo. I've tried mixing it with the other Bogner Modded Marshall that I have, which is original, but that one is way too scooped and bassy to mix well with the Steavens.
