Measuring Speaker Ohms

Hi...I just switched an older creamback 8 ohm speaker from a combo to my 1 X 12 cab...I tested it and it measured 5 ohms...I also tested the speaker I remove which was suppose to be 16 ohms but measured 11....is this like normal? Is this an acceptable variance?

Just asking cause I don't want to damage my new VH4

The impedance is no simple resistor, so measurement depends on the
frequency of your test equipment. I assume you have a digital
multi meter. In this case ever measurements form 11 to 15 ohm
are common for a 16 ohm speaker. Try to wire the cap to 16 ohms
if your amp has a 16 ohm speaker output. So it is easier to use a
second cab.
