Little B":1zdho48b said:I have both. They are not the same, hardly in the slightest.Ran both at outdoor festival into separate cabs.Used 2nd ch on Hafler and Brown on fish- together they sounded really cool. But the fish is a superior unit.
^^^ Brown ch on my fish is the cats meow.(keep in mind I run the vht 2150 and classic with these-and darn near anything slays thru those amps).Thick, chewy, tight, articulate if set that way,etc..I cant speak for the other versions of modded fish's and triple giants out there,as mine are bone stock..but I love em,(the fish more though). And our soundman loves mixing the hafler with the fish, but as said earlier, I too think the brown on the giant is probably where its at as far as the best you can get out of the giant, channel wise.I think the fish is better all around tho..I have a great guitar player shootout article somewhere between the fish, hafler, soldano x88r,and egnator ie4..Its a good read.Kapo_Polenton":in6gq2eb said:Is the brown channel on the bogner fish detailed and dark like a lot of people say Bogner stuff is or does it cut through?
Dave L":7h8j775h said:Yeah, the Hafler isn´t that good. The Brown channel was OK, but it´s not something I would dedicate 2U to and there are plenty of better choices in that price range or slightly above. Cleans were flat and the lead channel was screechy.
They don't sound the same, I switched preamp till I was blue in the face.Snave":2jgaq9cx said:Yeah, except the clean channel is called country on the Bogner.
People have modded the Hafler version to Bogner specs for not too much cash but I doubt they sound the same even (still layout and component quality differences).
