I just won the auction for a new Menatone Red Snapper for $138 on the bay. Also got a Frantone Peach Fuzz for $125. Should be a pleasing addition to the pedalboard. From what I can see the Mentone Red Snapper should be a good choice to get some more clarity in my old Guild amp. The biggest problem with the older 20 watt single 12" speaker amps is a good loud clean sound without going into distortion. I think the snapper will help. Anybody ever mess with either of these?

Just got back from two days of hitting the waves and my Menatone Red Snapper was waiting for me. Sell my clothes I'm going to heaven! Only messed with it for five minutes cause I'm sunburned and sore but the tone is to die for with my strat. Seems to drive other pedals very well also. Havn't tried any other guitars so it will be interesting to see what humbuckers or P90s do. I like it way better than the BB Preamp and mine may go up for sale soon. Will have to see what fits my playing style the best. The Menatone pedals are really well made and well voiced. I will be playing out within the next week and will post an update at that time. Frantone is here yet but I think it will be a one trick horse but a well trained horse.

Nice score! I've played an older one and LOVED it, I want to get some new boosts/overdrives to play with, but that's opening a whole new can of worms I've successfully avoided for awhlie now...

I hear ya. I have the Menatone VOS, the red snapper, a HBE PS, a Sparkle Drive, a BB Preamp and a hughes and kettner tubeman; but I do all my tone shaping from the pedalboard so it's worth it to have variations.

Just tried the Les Paul Jr with Red Snapper and the 59 20 watt Guild all tube amp. Its even better with that P90 crankin. Menatone pedals are true works of musicial art. The voicing is so smooth and natural sounding. I still have to get out the 72 Les Paul Custom to see how it handles the humbuckers.
