Mesa 50/50 vs Mesa 2:50.....what is the difference?

I bought a 2:50 couple of weeks ago and it sounds great! Don't know about the differences between two of them though. I'd love to test a 2:90 to see how does the 2:50 compare to it.

I have owned a 2:90.

It is my third favorite power amp after the VHT 2/50/2 and 2/90/2. :rock:
 
50/50 has a low power switch (15 watt per channel) and can only use 6L6's without being modded. 2:50 has on low power mode and can use 6L6's or EL34's.

Agreed. Mesa 2:50 can use both 6L6's or El-34's but does not have the low power switch option. I have owned both, and if buying abother would look for the older 50/50.........just my opinion, though.
