What can you tell me about them? I checked You Tube and found a few useful demos, but nothing that really showed the gain side of the amp. Would it be a good grab and go cover band amp (Matchbox 20 to Alice in Chains - no drop J flat chugga-chugga stuff   )?

Is $700 a fair price for one in 9/10 condition with the cover and footswitch?

The good, the bad, the ugly - let me hear it...

The 45 is the only one I have heard good things about. I have never been able to try one out myself though.

My friend had one I thought it was pretty cool amp for what it was. My favorite channel was the clean pushed, lead channel was waaaaaaay compressed lots of modes and options. The combo sounded kind of like a Mark IV but kind of not. I would really play it before you buy to see if it is your thing.

More like a " Grab and go EEEEEGGHHHHHH.  Every Mesa combo weighs a metric ton.

700 is the most I'd spend on one, actually I wouldn't spend that because I'd spend an extra 200 or 300 and get an Electra Dyne or maybe a wide body Mark IV. The thing with Nomads is no matter what guitar you play through them, it will sound similiar. Kinda like the DC-5.

I've been thinking about a Bogner Alchemist for a grab and go combo rig. Maybe check those out. Their cheaper and have similar tones going on. I don't know about the nomads never played one.

Thanks for the input. There doesn't seem to be a lot of love for the Nomad. The on-line reviews I found were lukewarm, at best, and the few that praised it might just have been fanboi's (or those trying to justify their sale price).

I think I'll pass...

Electra-Dynes have been popping up for 8-900. I'd grab one of those any day before a Nomad.

Cool... Thanks

I had a Nomad 45 1x12 that I enjoyed at the time. My first amp with el84 power tubes. Nice and greasy sounding, no Marshall mids 'kerrang' but nice. Had a great lead tone is what i remember. With an old Peavey Wolfgang Special at the time it had a really nice lead tone.
