I just picked up a 4x12, looks like oversized, cab today with g12 30's in it pretty cheap.
Anyone have any idea how this will sound with a Hagen.
I can't crank the amp till monday

Not as good as it would with a standard size cab. The oversized cabs are scooped in the mids/lower mids and very weak on the low end.

I'm not sure how an oversized Recto cab would sound with a Hagen, specifically, but that cab isn't weak on the low-end - it pushes a ton of low-end, more than the standard cab.

base341, did you get the slant or the straight? Both tend to be smooth and relatively dark-sounding vs. other V30 cabs, but the slant will sound brighter than the straight.

You may want to compare them again. I have a bunch of each of the mesa cabs and each oversized cab has a weaker low end than its standard sized equivalent. The oversized do push much LOWER frequencies but not more of the useful ones.

Love my oversized mesa cabs
I tried all of the new one's before I went with the old style.
I choose well I think, Adam Jones uses them too :)

I've had a chance to crank it up and I'm digging it.
I used it at band practice this week and really didn't notice much of a difference between it and my Diezel cab.
I actually am digging the mesa better because it's a slant cab and projects better in our small practice space.
I'm really stoked with the cab and may try to pick up another one if I can find a good deal again.

Huh, well there you go. One mans trash is anothers treasure.
