For sale... one of the rarest Mesa amps around. The legend, the myth, the magic: 1992 Dual Rectifier Revision C with chrome chassis and black diamond-plate. The Revision C models were only made for 3 months from March to May 1992. These are also the best sounding and most sought after Mesa Rectos around. The Revision C only lasted until about serial #250... and less than half of theses had the chrome chassis and black diamond-plate option. So conservatively speaking, this is one of about 100 amps with these specs. It's rare and very collectible. Far rarer and far fewer made, than a factory Mesa Mark IIC+ DRG or HRG. If you are a Mesa fan, you already know what this is.
The amp is in very good cosmetic condition and in excellent ++ functional condition. Cosmetically: the chrome chassis is in great condition. The only negatives are some random pencil tip size pitting marks scattered around the chassis. Most pitting marks are clustered by the on/standby switches on the front panel, input/footswitch jacks on the front panel, and near the serial # sticker on the top of the chassis. The headshell has its share of battle scars with random rips, tears, and gouges. Most damage is on the sides and bottom. See pics of details. Not bad for a 28 year old amp.
The serial number is #R02XX. It is between serial #R0200 and #R0250. The Revision C designation is clearly shown on the printed circuit board: RF-1C (see pic). It was wired by Kaydee on 5-15-1992 (any Mesa collector knows she was the neatest and super organized with her work) and play tested by Mike B. in June 1992. Power Transformer code is: 561136 EIA606-147 and the Output Transformer code is: 5622100 EIA606-033. Both transformers are super, super clean. Immaculate. Zero rust. The few examples of the Rev Cs you will ever see for sale, rarely if ever, have both transformers this clean. The majority are severely rusted, and once rust sets in, it's only a matter of time until the transformers become noisy, compromised, and fail. This is the 120V US model.
Soundwise, the Rev C is the tightest, brightest, most focused, and cutting of the different Rectifier revisions. It is like the best marriage of a mean Mark III Blue/Green Stripe and a Revision F Rectifier. It sounds amazing to be sure, which is why the Rev C is held in such high regard.
Power tubes currently installed are: Mesa labeled Sovtek 6L6GC power tubes, Mesa labeled Sovtek 5U4GB Rectifier tubes, and Ruby 12AX7C5 preamp tubes.
The amp sounds amazing and has zero issues. The entire amp is 100% stock and has never been repaired or modified in any way. Cleaner inside than outside. I am the 3rd owner. The amp will ship in a brand-new Mesa factory Dual Rectifier shipping box, with the Mesa factory packing materials. The same you would get if you purchased a new Mesa amp.
Why am I selling? I have 3 of these 1992 Rev C Rectifiers with chrome chassis and want to make room for some other amps.
Price: $3700.00 which includes the regular PayPal fee and UPS Ground shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states of the continental USA. I will not ship to AK/HI or outside of the USA for any reason whatsoever. I will not ship to a 3rd party or freight forwarder. I will only ship directly to the buyer's confirmed/verified PayPal shipping address inside the lower 48 states of the USA with direct signature delivery confirmation. Period. I am not interested in any sort of trades, whatsoever. Partial or otherwise. No trades. Please! Lowball offers will not be acknowledged. This means I will not respond, reply, or counter them. So just don't do it.
