From my days in MI retail, I remember that Mesa Boogie used to be “C” mark product, meaning they generally sold product to dealers at a 30% discount of the MSRP.

So, back then, a Mark IV was $1,499, but the dealer paid $1,049. Dealers rarely sold less than retail to customers.

For reference:

A Mark=50% off retail price (Fender. Peavey etc)
B Mark=40% off
C Mark =30% off

Now that Gibson owns MB, I wonder if that has changed. Are dealers paying $1,200 for that cab?

300w power handing? They’re just adding up the wattage capacity of each speaker, which is incorrect when dealing with speakers of different ratings, like in this cab. I bet somewhere, somehow, Dinesh ok’d that to be published, given his general state of obliviousness.

Those are my favorite cabs ever. No question. But I don’t see that price working for them. Mc90’s on top and ev’s on the bottom. Done. Or all ev’s. Or all ms12’s…what did they have? 90’s and 30’s? Fuck that.

I'd buy that! But no way in hell I'm paying $1,700! Come on Mesa / Gibson stop this insane pricing, and you may actually be successfully in keeping the Mesa brand alive! If this was $1,200, I'd buy this in a hot minute! Rant over LOL

lol.

How would you actually calculate it? [speaker with the least wattage handling] x [total number of speakers in the cab] because power is equally sent to all 4 speakers, right? So in this case it would be 60 watts x 4 speakers = 240 watt handling?

The thing about the possible april fools launch is that if that's what this is, they should have made the price truly absurd, like $8,000 or something.
