Just bought one on ebay...This is a 60/100W HRG short head in a maple hardwood shell.
It was originally a IIC and it was upgraded to IIC+ by Mike B. at Mesa Boogie Factory in '90s. Its loaded with Mesa STR440/430 6L6 tubes and mix of nos preamp tubes.
Anyone played one? What should i expect?
I bought it to play old trash metal up to prog/modern metal and....ok ok i confess, i want to get the old Petrucci lead tone too

Heres how it look

SWEET !!!! Looks very nice indeed !

The only amp by Mesa I have not had a chance to play and have always been very curious about .

Maybe Some Mark 11C + owners past or present will chime in :)

It will look even better on my Stone Age cab! but i bought it a bit impulsively and i hope it will sounds great and that its not just hype.

Great amp, IMHO it's the best amp Mesa has made by FAR. The Mark V doesn't touch it at all. The settings in the pic are pretty close to what I used to use but for the most preamp gain put treble all the way up, it adds gain and not treble once it's past 7. Alwawys keep the master pulled and volume 1 is like a gain for the lead as well. You can dime volume 1 for more lead gain but it will add dirt on the clean channel.

And don't ever sell it! I sold mine because I needed money but I wish I never did. For leads it's my favorite amp probably ever and I compared it a lot, I'd even take a IIC+ over an SLO for leads.

Thou shalt be happy. My singer has a IIC++ (Metallica Mod) and it sounds great.

Congrats on the new amp. Never played a Mk IIc but owned 2 Mk IVs and miss them.

Thanks for the tips! Ill try that as soon as i get it! I was prepared to be angry at first as i heard Mesa are a pain to tweak sometimes.
Thats reassuring me guys...everyone seems positive and if its as good as an SLO for leads than ill be super happy

The IIC+ is much easier to tweak than a Mark IV or V. The only thing you'll need to find is a balance between the gain and clean that you can live with. If you're not too concerned with clean tones then just dime the treble and volume 1. And scoop the 750HZ slider way down and you'll get instant Master Of Puppets tone. You'll be grateful that you won't have to scroll through menus or hit outboard gear to get that tone/

It looks similar to your old one.

It's been pretty much covered already but yeah-AWESOME amp. You'll love it for sure.

Congrats! The IIC+ is the best Mesa ever IMHO. Here is a pic of mine:

Nice! it looks very clean!

Amazing amp! Setting are not the typical Marshall style(either all half way or all dimmed), and can be tricky at first. Once you get used to the unusual settings it's very easy to dial it in a great sound.
Another important thing about this amp is the speaker choice. IMHO V30, C90 and EVM-12L are the best choice for this amp. Coincidence or not, these are Mesa speakers of choice too.
Ah, they're also loud, and the longer you play them, the better it will sound!
One of the best amps ever made!
Enjoy your new amp!

That's a great combo too! Just take your time with the amp. After some time playing, when it's your first time with the amp, is when the magic starts happening. They are truly incredible amps!
Cheers,
