This video shows the amps in the poll. Not my video.
I was thinking about a mod on my Rectifier. Interested in what experience and preferences everyone has ???
Same for me. Was quite surprised that I actually hated the Herm. But then these are captures too, so that adds another layer to the ?.From best capture to worst capture:
Rev F stock
Mr Scary
KSR
Ground Zero
H. Modded
Actual amps in person mic’d is a whole different story.
It actually sounded very good anyway. I legit, would want to use it over the modded ones anyway from that example.I'm leaning towards Mr Scary.
It sounded great but seemed to add a ton of noise. I’ve been on the fence on buying one to throw in my t-verbPrice wise-Mr scary. Kyle bull did a good video on this very subject I believe. I think it is amazing what these amp guys can do. I’m fine with changing tubes and biasing but it’s crazy that they can do and even understand these circuits to change things up.
Agreed that's why I still have a stock Recto and Hermansson one. The other mods seem to filter or neuter the sound a bit, trying to fix the problem of tightening, while creating new issues (like less balls), while the Hermansson mod becomes it's own thing that's tighter and sharper in attack than almost anything else with some remnants of the recto still in there. The extreme hollowness doesn't always agree with me, but then my ears go to their unique high end aggression and glassy, sharp detail up top and it can be addictive that part of their sound alsoIf I had a Rev F, I would be leaving it stock and doing what I used to do when I ran Rectos: boost up front and eq in the loop.
My next favorite in that demo would be the Hermansson. Not very Recto like anymore, but some very serious clarity, tightness and articulation!
