Sorry for the sloppy playing/mixing. I was writing as I played to test the sound.

Just guitar/drums.

Old rusted strings. Aria PE Professional cut (1984? w/kahler) duncan JB (sh4) bridge.
Einey channel 1 mode 3. Boss EQ in effects loop pulling out 400hz.
'78 marshal 4x12 w/ 80's Randall jaguar 80w' speakers
Dry except entire mix compressed...

Anyone have any tips getting heavy sounds w/ the Einey and/or recording it?

I think you are doing pretty good. My suggestion would be adding more gain & more mids at the same time & giving it another shot.

Thank you nbarts. Your herbert clips sound killer. Do you record the drums too?

Sometimes I trigger them, sometimes I record them, sometimes program them. Ehhhhhhhhhh... :D

The thing to learn is when you feel you need more gain, you should also add some mids; that will bring back the definition & thickness to the sound. That's where all that low end & thick sound people refer to is coming from.
