Metal face/Weave can I change it?

Hey guys I bought a Metal face here but prefer the weave. Can they be bought of bogner and switched out easily?

This is an incorrect statement. Although the bogner website says you cannot, you actually can swap the basketweave with the metal grill. It's not tough. The basketweave grill has 3 nails that attach. If you remove the chassis, you can lightly tap the basketweave grill out. Attaching the metal grill is simple at this point: four screws required... drill into the wood and screw in the metal grill. I've done it! It looks original.

Yes, it fits perfectly. There's a piece of wood on each side in the front, where the metal grill mounts to. This piece of wood is stained black or has tolex covering it. Just a couple drill guiding holes on each one and you can mount the metal grill no problem. I was initially doubtful too like you, however the guy I bought a metal grill from convinced me and sure enough it was easy to do and fits perfect. You ought to try it!

You used to have to go through a dealer. I did spend close to $600 getting a red custom headshell with metal grill. Bogner will sell them direct now, so it is a lot cheaper. Still expensive, but not as bad as before.

I replaced my wheat front with a black metal front many, many years ago. It was no problem at all. Looks completely normal.

I think the metal front was $78.

I still have the wheat front if anyone wants it. Not exactly sure where it is. . .I'd have to look for it.
