Pretty much ROCKED. Went with J-Dub, he got some killer pictures I'm sure he will be around to post.

Admittedly, Schenker probably wasn't in tip top playing form, but his tone was good (mix sucked), played a bunch of classic tunes and was smiling and having a a good time the entire night...

Kind of funny that considering he has been my #1 guitar hero since say 79/80, that this was the first time I had ever seen him...I'm also the guy that "discovered" Les Pauls and Marshalls in the last couple of years so that in itself isnt a big suprise....wish I had seen him 20 years ago when I had the chance. Funny thing, average age of the crowd was probably 40. All the old guys came out to RAWK...

Opening bands were sucking in a Spinal Tapish sort of way. The first band was hillarious, the second guy Doug Doppler (heh...Douche Doppler) was a complete wanking tragedy, played basically a 35 minute guitar solo to a backing track. It was horrible and basically confirmed that selling your JVM is a good idea.

The only problem is now I need a Flying V  :aww:

Sounds like you had a good time overall. Post the pictures already !! LOL

I doubt if most of the younger crowd knows who Schenker is.
So what amps is he using these days? Still the 50 watt Marshalls?

Awesome! I'm a new found Schenker fanboy. :P :D

I just bought a V because of him too.

Schenker is all about great phrasing, great tone. I owned a V for a few years but i don't like playing them sitting down. But if you play it standing up or at a live show it fucking rules and a good V can sound a lot like an LP. And i love those headstocks.

I love those natural finish V's, like the one in this video.

You won't like it  But that's my old guitar teacher and he rules, he blows Zakk Wylde away.

Yeah know I played mostly Vs for pretty much of all my Metal gigs back in Germany and to me there's nothing more comfy that a V sitting down with it stuck on the leg.

Why would the younger crowd not know who Schenker is?

I read an artical a few years ago were his old lady sold most of his studio for crack, he sounded a little depresed. Good show every time I saw him. :
