Pretty much ROCKED. Went with J-Dub, he got some killer pictures I'm sure he will be around to post.
Admittedly, Schenker probably wasn't in tip top playing form, but his tone was good (mix sucked), played a bunch of classic tunes and was smiling and having a a good time the entire night...
Kind of funny that considering he has been my #1 guitar hero since say 79/80, that this was the first time I had ever seen him...I'm also the guy that "discovered" Les Pauls and Marshalls in the last couple of years so that in itself isnt a big suprise....wish I had seen him 20 years ago when I had the chance. Funny thing, average age of the crowd was probably 40. All the old guys came out to RAWK...
Opening bands were sucking in a Spinal Tapish sort of way. The first band was hillarious, the second guy Doug Doppler (heh...Douche Doppler) was a complete wanking tragedy, played basically a 35 minute guitar solo to a backing track. It was horrible and basically confirmed that selling your JVM is a good idea.
The only problem is now I need a Flying V
