MIDI 'power' current limit on the Mod50

Another quick question here; didn't see it in the manual:

What is the available supply current for the 7-pin MIDI from the Egnater Mod50. Is it protected? I'd like to use it to power my MIDI foot controller and maybe 1 effect pedal as it would eliminate the need for 120VAC at the floor unit (which is super-handy!); wanted to check the specs first. I could figure out how to beef it up if it needed, but really don't wanna jot around inside the amp as I'm at the point where I just don't want to fudge with things... i'd rather be playing!

The M4 is 1000 mA

bummer b/c the ADA MPC is 1.4A, so it was a no go :( :( :( :( :(

I don't know what the Mod 50 limit is.

WTF?! The M4 Midi In jack sends power? Can I use it to power my Rocktron Midi Mate through a 7 pin cable? Is the power going through the right pins for this? This might change EVERYTHING for me......

Thanks!

My MOD100 powers my Axess FX1, the M4 should power your Midi Mate.

I'll have to check the combined current draw for the FCB1010 and probably a wah pedal (maybe). Is it just a linear regulator in there? Some of the TO-220 package linear regs will go to 1.5A so long as the Xformer can take it and heat can be dissipated out. If it's a matter of swapping a reg and increasing the heatsinking, it doesn't seem like too hard a 'mod.'

I know the M4 powers my Ground Control Pro. It was a pleaseant, but obvious, surprise, since DMC designed the MIDI boards for the Mod series. :D

Power from the MIDI in is 9VAC @ 1A (1000mA). You need to check the requirements of your controller to see if it is compatible. You cannot power effects pedals directly from this supply UNLESS....the pedal is designed to operate from 9VAC. Also, if you try to connect more than your midi pedal, surely you will cause ground loop issues.

Thank you. BTW, It's awesome that the actual person who built my amp has responded directly to a small question here.

If i were to power something else off the 9VAC line, I would have to use a small 1:1 transformer for ea. output I'd need. I'm thinking instead of just making a custom cable that runs some 9VDC lines from the amp end (where access to 120VAC exists) to the floor board to power any 9VDC units.

Thanks,
Phil
