Hey guys. I have been reevaluating my rig, and am kind of undecided at this point. Basically, I am going to be running a two amp rig consisting of a VHT UL, and D120 head, through 2 VHT cabs. I am having a 2 amp rack case being built, along with a 5 space rack above it. The goal was to have both amps running together via the rjm effects gizmo, and mastermind footpedal. main reason being, I was going to be using an effects processor between two heads, as well as various stomboxes, and I wanted to have patches created to have all different kinds of combinations, and to avoid tap dancing..
Lately however though, I realize I dont NEED a whole hoist of tones, but still want to be able to run both amps together, or seperate, or whichever way I wanted. This is where the radial jx-2 switchbone comes in. I used one before in just a simple, 2 amp rig, with no effects, and it was great: especially the boost features it presents.
My main concern with using the Jx2 vs something like the RJM effects gizmo, is that I would then be lugging around a pedalboard as well. I also feel that I wouldn't be able to make my setup as "neat and tighty" as I could with having the pedals in a droor in the rack, controlled via midi with one pedal at the front of the stage. Also, when using the jx2, How would I run pedals through both of the amps? For example, a wah pedal or 1 boost? how would I run those through both amps without something like a looper?
So, this is where my heartache is. Not sure what to do here. THe rjm system, will be much more confusing to me, and much more expensive, however, once I learn midi programming, could make my life much less complicated. anyways, just curious what you guys think. Thanks!
