Guys-

Got two Eventide pedals- Time Factor and Mod Factor. Great pedals!

Question: Both of these are MIDI capable, but none of them is what I think would be called a timing master. I cannot tap tempo on one and have the other lock to it through MIDI.

At least I don't think it will do that. Correct me if I am wrong.

SOOOOOOOOOOO-

Is there a kind of MIDI tap pedal that would do that? The pedals have MIDI through (at least I am pretty sure they do as they both have a MIDI out), so if the tap pedal had only one MIDI out I think I could set it up like this: Tap pedal-Eventide-Eventide.

OR- is there an iPad/iPhone app that would do it? I bet there is.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, they can do that. I don't have enough time to type it out so look it up on the Eventide forums; it has been discussed a few times and should be easy to find. Basically, you set one unit to send midi clock and the other to receive. Then you could also connect a momentary switch to the one acting as the master and configure the momentary switch as the tap. By doing that, you would not need to switch from preset mode to play mode to access the tap switch on the Eventide.

Hope that helps.

I'll check there. I had these pedals a few years agao and as I recall they couldn't do it. But, I may have been doing it wrong, or they may have been upgraded since then. Good suggestion about getting the switch anyway- I hadn't thought of that. Thanks!

That seems to so it- Thanks! Pretty sure that is new- an upgrade.

If I wanted to connect a pedal- any suggestions there?

A lot of people use the Digitech FS3X and that will allow you to control three parameters. I usually just build my own. If you just need one button for tap, you can get a momentary switch, jack and small enclosure at radio shack for around $15. Or for $40 you can get the Digitech.
