Ok guys I have a Rocktron MidiXchange pedal and I cant get it to do a thing. I have never even used midi before and dont understand how to get any of it to work. I tried putting my herbert into omni mode just like the manual says but the lights dont flash like it says it should. I tried having my amp set and then pushing store twice with no joy. I just want to do simple channel changes with the mid cut assigned to my clean channel. I'm completely lost and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Nope its just a simple pedal with a switch for up and down to go through the presets and a recall but to select which ever preset you are on. Also when you put the amp into Omni mode do the lights continually flash or do they just turn on while you hold the mute switch and then turn off as soon as you let it go.

What you're saying about putting the amp into omni mode doesn't sound right to me. I haven't messed around with omni myself because in addition to the Herbert I'm also running an effects processor so I have to use manual channel selection, but the flashing lights you refer to sounds like the amp being in "mute" mode. Not sure if you're actually in "omni" at that point.

Yes I have a power supply for the pedal and it turns on and looks to function like the manual says (pretty limited manual though). Can anybody tell me exactly what the lights are supposed to do when it is in omni mode. The herbert manual says the lights blink but I dont know if this means it is supposed to flash or just turn on for a sec and then kick off after i've released the mute button. The exact steps I am taking to put it in omni mode are as follows.
Hold down mute
Push volume two ( mid cut, v2, loop, mute, store lights all turn on
release mute (all lights turn back off)
turn on channel one with mid cut on
push store first time
push store second time

am I missing something in the process here? I have also tried setting the midi chan manually on the pedal and amp to midi chan 1 without any success. I try switching with pedal and nothing happens.

I think you have to step on your MIDI pedal first to send a MIDI message to the Herbert. Then set up the amp to your desired state and press Store twice.

I tried that too and just retried it right now to make sure but its as if there is absolutely no communication going on anywhere. How can I make sure that the amp is functioning properly. Any tell tale signs. Should I just try another pedal. I'm pretty much the only guy around here that has anything midi so I'll have to just buy another one and give it a shot but anymore thoughts before I dip yet again into my pockets
