Definitely. That round was designed for a suppressed, short barrel upper. Sub-sonic, but still got a hell of a thump to it.

I went 5.56 on my MK18 pistol. Have thought about getting one in 300 too. The 5.56 through a ~10” barrel is so loud.

Shot quite a few rounds/manufacturers through mine: XM193, M855, custom loads. Found that mine really “likes” Blackhills 77gr Sierra OTM/MK 262 Mod 1. Consistent grouping was easier with this round.

Then I tried Blackhills 77gr TMK which took the gun to another level. The BC on the TMK is really good and the 77gr ammos shoot a bit softer to me through the MK18 which is nice imo.

But I had already bought quite a bit of the OTM, so I will be shooting that for a while. If the TMK returns (if ever) from unobtanium I will probably pivot to it. Cannot find the stuff anywhere.

Honestly, I don't mind it if I'm next to someone using one. Anytime I've let somebody shoot any of my carbines with a brake or comp, I'm standing right next to them. If I don't complain about it, I don't expect others to. Besides, that's what ear pro is for, right?

Indoors is another animal, but I rarely shoot indoors anymore.

I belong to an outdoor club. About 12 different ranges and 95% of the time I’m there by myself. Just how I like it.
