Ok guys bare with me here, I'm about to order a Mod 50 so I have a lot of question, that's why I've asked too much stuff in the last 24 hours hehe

I know the Mod 50 is midi, but does it come with a normal footswitch? or do I have to buy it separately?

If so what are you using as a midi controller? I like the Midi idea since you can program the channels and settings.

thanks guys.

You can use any MIDI controller so the amp does not come with one. However, Egnater has a 4-button midi footswitch that you can buy if you want to use theirs.

Ok, so the amp won't come with a footswitch right? I'll have to buy either the egnater or another brand.

What are you using? EWSEthan

By the way, I'm new to Midi, how do you go about it? Can I for example set T/D channel A in a given setting, then store it right?, then have another setting completely different in the same T/D channel A and Store it. Later on I can access each stored setting and it will sound like I "stored it" ?

Do you understand?

I use the Egnater 4-button switch because I dont use rack effects anymore. I used to use a Ground Control Pro but I sold it when I ditched the rack went to pedals. So, the fact that the Egnater switch is midi is of no real importance to me. To me, its like any other amp footswitch. It just happens to connect via midi to the amp.

Technically, the amp responds to Program Change messages 1-4. Looking at the amp from left to right, you have module slot 1 and 2.

PC 1 = Module 1, Channel A
PC 2 = Module 1, Channel B
PC 3 = Module 2, Channel A
PC 4 = Module 2, Channel B

This is default and can be configured if you want to do more sophisitcated midi stuff. But technically, as long as your foot controller sends PCs 1-4 you can access all of the channels easily. Thats what the egnater switch does. Its just a simple 4 button switch that sends messages 1-4.

You cannot store module settings. For example, you cant have the same module channel accessed with different EQ settings. When the module is switched in, it always uses EQ as it is set on the module. Its not a computer. Think of it as just a regular tube amp with swapable preamps :D

The Egnater footswitch is a four switches, one per channel, easy.
With a midi pedal board you can only switch among these four channels, can not store different settings (e.g. gain volume and EQ) on the same channel and recall them.

The useful thing is that you can switch among channels on your head and change the programs on your multifx with the same midi pedalboard.

oh ok!.... too bad, I though it was programable (like the Diezels VH4/Herbert) in which you can store the settings and it will remember them even if the EQ is set differently than the stored settings.

I don't use rack effects for now, I only have a Boss ME-50 Multi-effect (it's a pedal basically). I'm planning on getting a G-system later on when I start gigging more regularly (but not for now).

How much is the Egnater footswitch?

If you are using pedals mainly, just grab a footswitch like this from a place like musiciansfriend:

https://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=180290

It will work just fine, since it sends Midi program changes 1-4 to the amp. I use this as my backup midi controller to my Ground Control pro.
