Hi all,
I need to find which tube is used for the input signal. Any kind of boost that goes through the front of the amp causes this weird distorted sound when I use it. Any ideas???

Is there a diagram that shows what the tube location/tube types are for the MOD-50, excluding the power tubes? Or does any one know about this?

Thanks for the help

It's the tube that is physically closest to the actual input Jack. Makes a difference for sure.

I'd start swapping each of the chassis tubes one at a time and trying to isolate the problem. Like Nick said, start with the one closest to the input jack.

There is a users manual on egnateramps.com and it should have the tube layout I think.

Thanks for the answers. I will try this sometime this weekend. Tha manual I have does not show the tube diagram, wonder why not?

Thanks

Well, the way I figure it is that there are only three of them. The input and the PI, then the one in the middle!!  :D

Never underestimate a good tube in the PI slot too. That would be the one closest to the power section.

Try input first, then the PI. Only takes a few minutes.
