Happy new Mod 50 owner here, & the amp coming with a T/D and an SL2.

I understand this amp isn't made any more, but are the modules still available through Egnater and what custom work can be done? Are there also other modules available that aren't listed on the Egnater website?

Thank you.

You can buy them from some online shops. You can also use the Randall single channel modules in the MOD-50, which opens you up to quite a large selection of modules (albeit, they are only a single channel instead of the dual channel modules that are made by Egnater).

This really is a great amp, I've really been enjoying mine.

Egnater *might* still have some available from their shop. If not, try some of the dealers listed on their website:

http://www.egnater.com/dealers.html

Otherwise, other possibilities are as follows. Note that they are all single channel modules though (but they will work in your MOD50):
1.) Randall (as mentioned by previous poster). See website for list: http://www.randallamplifiers.com/Amplif ... S-Modules/

2.) Salvation Mods. These guys mod Randall single channel modules. Very cool. Website: https://www.myspace.com/salvationmods

3.) Gig Mods. Again, these guys mod Randall single channel modules. Very cool. Website: http://www.gigmods.com/

4.) Other guys: Jeff Hilligan (member here) and Dave Friedman, among others, also do some cool modifications on pre-existing modules. You can find info by searching this forum.

5.) Buy used! Check the classifieds on Rig-Talk or on the MTS Forum.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info everyone - most helpful.

Next question - what's the deal with the Deluxe/Twin module verses the 'Deluxe' module and the 'Twin' modules? I don't see the latter on the Egnater website?

The T/D module is like channel A from the TWIN and channel B from the DLX combined into one module.

Think of the TWIN and DLX modules like T/T and D/D. These modules are for people that really know their tonal requirements and are after a specific flavour with a couple of footswitchable gain settings.

The T/D is for people that are going for a slightly different flavour between channels, or are just trying to cop one variant of each type of amp. I use the T in the T/D for cleans and the D for breaking up Fender spank. I did have the DLX module, but found I slightly preferred the TWIN clean over the DLX for the sort of things I'm doing. So I sold it and bought a T/D which does exactly what I want.

Now I'm gassing for a COD module.

Egnater Updates.

The success of all the new Egnater products over the past couple of years has been amazing and overwhelming at the same time. The demands required to make this all happen has made it almost impossible for us to continue hand building the modular products as we have been for almost 10 years. For this reason, I have decided to take the manufacturing outside of our small shop in Berkley, Michigan. This decision does not come easy and without careful consideration of all the options. So, please accept this letter as official confirmation that the Egnater Modular products will no longer be hand built by Terri, Ian and Myself but will be produced by an outside contract manufacturer. Of course, I will continue to have complete control over every phase of design, production and quality. The good things that will come out of this are that the Modular products will be much more readily available and will have the worldwide exposure that never existed in the past. I will also be updating some features as well as adding a few cool new things to every model. At this time, we are completely sold out of M4 preamps. Those will not be available again until the new production takes place later this year. We do have a quantity of MOD50 heads available that we are hand building right now. These will be the last of the “hand built” ones available. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. We will also be reintroducing an updated version of the MOD100 and will finally have the E2 preamp become a reality later this year. My hope is that the expanded production and worldwide distribution will bring the Modular amps and preamps into the hands of players who previously found Egnater Modular difficult or impossible to purchase or just too expensive. I sincerely thank all of you who have remained “Eggie” fans and supporters for all these years. The future looks bright for Egnater as we move into this new phase of “Global” domination.
