MOD 50 VS. RM100

I am deffinately going modular.
How much difference (tone wise) will I notice between the Egnater stuff and the Randall stuff.

Night and day difference between those 2 amps. I have both. Mod 50 has a totally different power section. Less headroom before your into the power section which means a warmer, fatter tone. Randall is more agressive sounding overall to me with less warmth and more sizzle. Egnater is smoother. Of course the Egnaters have some higher priced components and the sum of those parts does make a difference in sound and feel. The Randall is a great amp though and it really excells at the more aggressive tones.

Not sure on the power section as I have only tried a Mod 50 and don't own a Rm100 (just their rack version), I am sure the Mod 50 is better to a certain type of player, but from a module standpoint, both are good, besides the obvious 2 channel versus single channel difference, randall puts out some good sounding modules, specially the artist series, and they are easy and cheap to mod. Egnater modules sound great too, less variety, probally higher quality parts and more authentic to what they are mimicing but its possible to get some nice sounds from both camps, and they are interchangable for the most part, thats the good news...
