Is there any modules that could be modded to give a more aggressive, higher gain sound for an uberschall type tone? heres a clip of what i think is a decent representation of what an uberschall sounds like although i really dont think the clip does it justice. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=965182&content=songinfo&songID=7736945
Of all the amps ive ever played or heard i think egnaters mod stuff really takes the cake for clean and mid gain stuff but the uberschall's high gain tone just sounds best to my ears for really heavy styles of music.

Checked out the clips on Salvations myspace and they are great, he doesn't have his website up yet. How are you guys getting in touch with him for pricing, ordering etc...?

Anthony is the nicest guy to deal with and he will accommodate any request that you may have. My ENGL module is arriving in a couple of weeks.
His PM box fills up really fast so best way to contact him is through his email anthony@salvationmods.com

Yo Brad!

I just PM'd him on the mts forums, he's super nice and very patient with my hundreds of questions!

After playing a Uber Twin Jet last weekend at Tone Merchants, I'll have to say, a EG5 w/ 6L6's could be a very close tone. Granted, it will be clearer, not as mushy, and much tighter on the bass / low mids...but it can get into that type of territory. IMHO playing the Uber Twin Jet, and then going back to Jason's (jngman69s) house and playing the EG5 the next day, I personally think the Mod100 w/ a EG5 sounded much better. I was using a strat w/ EMGs in it on both, and personally LOVED the tone much more vs the Uber. I had always had an infatuation with the Uber, as I thought it could be really cool, but I honestly didn't like it that much at all. I'd rather have a 5150 or SLO100 vs the Uber.

Just my opinion ;)

Eric

The SLO clones can be done but the 5150 would be compromised because you can't fit 6 gain stages in the pcb.

Funny you should mention the Uberschall. We have one at the shop right now. Using an Egnater SS4 head switcher we are able to instantly switch between two heads into one cabinet. The only accurate way to A/B heads. I find the EG5 module tone is surprisingly similar to the Uberschall. One thing Reinhold does in the Uber is to cut the low end in the preamp to keep the bass tight. Then there is a density" type circuit (low end boost in the power amp) built in that is essentially full up. So the bass is tight in the preamp and gets boosted back up in the power amp. I see on the new Uber Twin Jet, the "Density" control is now adjustable. Frankly I don't think one is better than the other. Just slightly different flavors of some great high gain tones.

Bruce, can you tell us what your EG5 settings are that got you closest to Ubie?

I just PM'd Anthony at Salvation. Hopefully I hear back soon.

EG5 does have the tightest "Front end" of any of the modules for sure.

I can't wait to go home and experiment with less bass boost, more density, and see what happens.

I agree w/ Bruce here. I played an Uber Twin Jet 2 weekends ago, and also the EG5 w/ the Mod100 and they are close enough for me. I felt the EG5 was tighter through the mids, and with more clarity. I personally run my Bass switch on 1, and boost the bass knob to around 2 oclock on the EG5, and that gave me a similar tightness to the Uber.

Definitely extinguished any GAS I might have had for a Uber, which was really none at all. The Ecstacy was a different story. Damn awesome amp!!! Too many switches and crap for me though. Sound was awesome though!
