Mod50 Footswitch

It's probably a dumb question, but is the standard 4 button Mod50 footswitch just a "dumb" footswitch, only outputting PC 1, 2, 3, & 4 on Midi channel 1, or is there some added functionality built in? Is there a manual online for this thing somewhere?

Never mind about the manual. Found it on the website. Still curious about the foot controller though.
